Taipei Day 2

So how was everyone's Christmas?
I would say that the theme/purpose God had for me this Christmas was REUNION.
Amazingly, I met up with my 2 grandma relatives, and got back in contact with a Long Lost Friend..then, Joshua had a reunion with his family. I think things are OK now. At least I know that I'm accepted in his family because they started to talk to me!!! And I really do hope that Joshua is alright now. So Thank GOD!

ALL GLORY TO HIM!

So, Taipei Day 2.

We woke up to realise that our Included Breakfast consist of a choice of Bread, jam, butter, ham, eggs, coffee and tea.
That's about it. And I had bread and ham with tea for the next few mornings and Cheryl has her bread with eggs.
So follwing my plan, we headed off to JingAn MRT Station.
As noted, while you are queuing up for the bus to Leofoo Village, taxi drivers will approach you giving you an offer to drive you there straight and even back!
Since my itinerary wasn't clear about the bus process to get to Leofoo Village, we hopped on to the cab instead! Plus, the driver looks decent, friendly and genuine. =)
He became our tourguide from Jing An MRT Station to Leofoo and later to Shida Night Market! =)

We totally enjoy being fetched around and having a tourguide that talks about events and attractions. Cheryl and I just relax at the back while my mum and aunt bombarded the driver with lots of questions.

I guess when I reach their age, I will also start asking lots of questions. Right now, I'm just enjoying the info given.

We had a pitstop to get some food and went to Window on China to take a photo at the entrance before heading to Leofoo Village.

First Ride! Is just a small Roller Coaster.

Ok. I realise that I can't upload anymore photos in this blog anymore due to memory full..I"m not sure what I did by tagging it with Picasa album. So, my 1GB is full and in order to upload more, I will have to pay money. So it is time to MOVE!

Anyway it is the new year soon!

Merry Christmas to all!

Merry Christmas! hope everyone are enjoying yourselves! I would like to share my Taipei trip with you all!
I trip planned by me!

From booking the flights, the hotel and even the itinerary! I have fulfilled my so called Be A Tour Guide Dream! I'm a big girl now!

Ok.

We left on the 16th December, early in the morning since our flight is at 7.10am.
Tired looking faces on the plane..
All thanks to hard work and my handy book compiled from Trip Advisor Forum!
Once we reach the airport and pass through the custom, we head to Kuo Kuang bus counter to buy our tickets - from the airport to Taipei Main Station.
Ok just to let you know, we waited at the wrong sign board (This is the one)
We were still taking photos happily..
Muahaha..But thankfully, a guy came and tell us as he was keeping the trolleys. He said further down. And our bus was already there! So we rushed onboard of course! Can't afford to miss the bus! We have a timeline to keep!
This is the wrong one! Muahaha..
 OnBoard!
Well, it took longer than the estimated time given on the forum. We took 1 hour and 20 mins instead of the 40-55 mins trip to Taipei Main Station due to a jam.
When we reach, it was super cold and drizzling! It is seriously way colder than the expected temperature!!!
(Later did we know..it is because of a Cold Wind..that will last for a day or 2)
Totally unprepared!
After we took a cab from Taipei Main Station to Kingshi Hotel (@ Ximending), wash up and relax a little, it was time to head out to Taipei 101! But Super Hungry! So we grabbed either a A set meal or B set meal along the way from one of the eatery. My First Food in Taipei!

I love the NOODLES!!!!
I ate every single drop! I love it so much! Talking about it just makes me drool.......I miss the NOODLES!!!!!!!

After late fabulous lunch which I can eat everyday!!!

We head to Ximending Station to travel to Taipei 101.
(I should have totally change and head to Miramar Mall instead..but anyway....Off we go!)

Holding my itinernary

So, according to my itinernary, you just need to go to the counter to ask for a NT$500 Jie2 Yun4 card.
= NT100 deposit & NT400 usable for travelling.
You will only get your entire deposit back if you use the card for 5 days...if not part of it will be deducted for admin processing fee.

This card is amazing! you can use it to travel on MRT, BUS and even Ferry!!!

Set to go!

From Ximending to Taipei City Hall Station? I believe it is if I remember it correctly.

There will be a map when you exit the Station. And we walked to Taipei 101 and experience the super cold weather!

The tall building is Taipei 101!

Once you reach, head to the 5th floor to get to the entrance for the Observatory Ticketing!

Hmmm...it cost..I can't remember how much it is but it is definitely expensive for the view I'm given due to the poor weather. So please note! If the weather is bad, even slightly drizzling, don't go!!!! Cause the view will not be spectacular at all!!! Should have gone to Miramar Mall to sit the Ferris Wheel instead! But oh well, this was on the way to Wufenpu and Raohe night market which I had plan...

Just to prove my words, here is a picture taken with a good camera and it is just blurry..so just give it a miss ok if the weather is not good. The person at the counter will inform you that the view is not good too before you buy the tickets so you will know what you are in for.
We end up taking photos with random things we see as though we are having a good time. It is really a just a tourist spot with lots of tourist that come on bus.

My next trip, I'm going to Miramar Mall instead! =)

After exploring the 2 levels, it was time to head to Wufenpu instead.
We decided to cab since we were kind of tired. We can enjoy the bus transportation on the 3rd day definitely.
Initially, I was quite worried that we won't get the chance to buy anything since from the forum, it was all winter clothings etc.. so I was not hopeful.
Thankfully, there is something called PANTS! We bought pants! I manage to get a shorts too!  WooHOO!!!!

And it is time to head to Raohe Night Market!!!! It is just on the other side of the station. It sounds easy to find it but if you are lost, just ask people. They will guide you. Super friendly and helpful people. =)
Love them!
We finally reached! Trembling cold! And it makes you hungry!
So according to the forum that there is a Jing Lin shop for some super duper licious mutton soup, we try to find it. I guess we were all too cold and hungry, we made do with another mutton soup stall before this! And the meat was hard but the soup was delicious!
So, I did not have a chance to savour this!
Just remember it is really deep in far in from the entrance! Don't go to the first mutton soup stall you see! Persevere!!! I should have. Now I will never know how good or supposedly awesome it is that you can finish it till the last drop!!!
Well the soup at the stall I tried was wonderful! Just the meat is tough. Like tough till you have to tear the meat out like a barbarian..

Try this stall!!!
Egg tart in egg shell.
Dessert to keep us warm. It was really COLD! 9 degrees! Seriously! a t-shirt, long sleeves and a thick jacket is not enough.  Haha..Thanks to the cold wind.

In the end, we just cab back.

And that's the end of day 1.
